A surreal black-and-white double-exposure style portrait of a young woman in profile, eyes closed, head tilted back with an expression of serene release. Her bare shoulders are visible, arms crossed gently over her chest, wearing a flowing, loosely draped fabric/dress. The right side of her head and hair dissolves into a swarm of dozens of monarch-style butterflies, as if her hair and body are transforming into and disintegrating into butterflies flying upward and outward, creating a dispersion/disintegration effect. Fine particle/dust texture accompanies the butterfly dispersion. The background is a textured, weathered concrete/plaster wall in soft grey and off-white tones with grunge, water-stained, distressed texture and visible scratches. The image has a vintage film grain overlay, high contrast lighting emphasizing skin texture and shadow on her face and shoulder, moody chiaroscuro lighting. Overall mood is dreamlike, melancholic yet liberating — symbolizing transformation, freedom, or release. Square format composition, fine art conceptual photography style, monochrome duotone.
