Midjourney prompt generator and parameter helper

Description first, parameters last. Write the subject, the medium, the light and the framing in plain clauses, then append only the flags that change the outcome — and run the result on Midjourney 8.2 without leaving Genvizu.

Three Midjourney prompts with the parameters explained

Parameters always go at the end, after every descriptive clause. These three cover the flags that actually change what comes back.

Editorial portrait with a fixed crop

Input

Idea: portrait of a ceramicist in her studio, magazine feel, vertical crop

Prompt output

editorial portrait of a ceramicist in her studio, clay dust on her
forearms, single north-facing window light, muted earth palette, 85mm,
shallow depth of field --ar 4:5 --stylize 250

--stylize accepts 0 to 1000. Lower values follow your wording more literally; higher values let Midjourney apply more of its own aesthetic.

A series that has to share one look

Input

Idea: three product shots for one landing page, all in the same visual language

Prompt output

matte black desk lamp on a concrete plinth, soft top light, deep shadow,
minimal studio set --ar 1:1 --sref <your reference image url>

Keep the same --sref across every shot in the series and change only the subject clause. That is what holds a set together.

A photograph, not an illustration

Input

Idea: documentary street photo at dusk, no stylised illustration feel

Prompt output

documentary street photograph, rain on the pavement at dusk, a cyclist
passing under a neon sign, available light only, 35mm, visible grain
--ar 3:2 --raw --stylize 50 --chaos 0

--raw with a low --stylize and --chaos 0 is the closest Midjourney gets to a literal reading of a photographic prompt.

Style-first drafting

Separate subject, medium, lighting, material, and reference style so each part can be refined.

Parameter awareness

Think through aspect ratio, stylization, chaos, seed, and quality without burying the core idea.

A cleaner Midjourney prompt pattern

  1. 01

Write the subject in plain language first.

  2. 02

Add style, material, lighting, and composition in separate phrases.

  3. 03

Append only the parameters that serve the image.

  4. 04

Save the best prompt variants and reuse the structure across new ideas.

Midjourney versions and the alternatives in Genvizu

Both Midjourney versions return 4 images per run at the same price, so an A/B between 8.1 and 8.2 costs the same as one run of either.

Midjourney 8.1The previous default, useful as an A/B baseline1K / 2K = 23 / 35 credits per run, 4 images returned

Where Midjourney prompts usually go wrong

The prompt is rejected or silently truncated

Midjourney prompts in Genvizu are capped at 1,024 characters and must be in English. Cut description before you cut parameters — trailing flags are the first thing lost to a truncation.

The parameters seem to have no effect

Parameters only work at the very end of the prompt, each written as --name value. A flag buried in the middle of a sentence is read as description.

Only one of the four images is usable

That is how Midjourney works: one run is four variations for one price. Judge the run rather than the frame, and lower --chaos if the four are too far apart to compare.

Everything comes out over-stylised

Add --raw and push --stylize towards 0. Raise --chaos only when you deliberately want the four images to diverge.

Type in the image is unreadable

Midjourney is weak at typography. Ask for a clear area where the copy will sit, then set the type yourself, or send that particular job to GPT Image 2.

Midjourney generation in Genvizu requires a signed-in account and deducts credits per run, with 4 images returned each time. Prompts are limited to 1,024 English characters, reference images you upload are stored by Genvizu for the run, and results stay in your generation history.

Questions people ask

Does Genvizu support Midjourney 8.2?

Yes. Midjourney 8.2 has been available in Genvizu since 28 July 2026 at 1K and 2K, costing 23 and 35 credits per run with 4 images returned each time. Midjourney 8.1 remains available alongside it.

Which Midjourney parameters can I use?

--ar for aspect ratio (1:1, 4:3, 3:2, 16:9, 3:4, 2:3, 9:16), --stylize from 0 to 1000, --chaos from 0 to 100, --sref for a style reference and --raw for a more literal read. They all belong at the end of the prompt.

Do I need a separate Midjourney subscription?

No. Midjourney runs through Genvizu and is billed in Genvizu credits, so there is no separate Midjourney account or Discord setup to maintain.
