What is Nano Banana 2.1?
Nano Banana 2.1 is the newest version of Google's Nano Banana image generation and editing model. The headline improvements are closer prompt following, more consistent characters across images, sharper in-image text, multi-image references, and output up to 4K.
It sits alongside the Nano Banana 2 and Nano Banana 2 Lite models already on Genvizu — nothing is replaced:
- Want 4K while keeping credits per image low → start with Nano Banana 2.1.
- Need fast single-tier 1K drafts → Nano Banana 2 Lite is still there.
- Already have a Nano Banana 2 workflow → it keeps working exactly as before.
Nano Banana 2.1 pricing: three resolution tiers
| Resolution | Credits | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1K | 5 | Same price for text-to-image and image-to-image |
| 2K | 8 | Default tier |
| 4K | 12 | Top tier |
Key points:
- Text-to-image and image-to-image cost the same: uploading reference images doesn't raise the price.
- No surcharge for aspect ratio or reference count: any of the 14 ratios and anywhere from 1 to 10 reference images — the price depends only on the resolution tier.
- The generate button shows the cost before you run it; the amount actually charged at generation time is final.
- Failed generations are refunded automatically, as everywhere on Genvizu.
For comparison, Nano Banana 2 on Genvizu is 10 / 15 / 23 credits at 1K / 2K / 4K. See the full per-model table on Model Pricing, and plans and credit packs on Pricing.
Which aspect ratios does Nano Banana 2.1 support?
14 fixed ratios plus "auto":
- Standard:
1:1 / 2:3 / 3:2 / 3:4 / 4:3 / 4:5 / 5:4 / 9:16 / 16:9 / 21:9 - Extra-long:
1:4 / 4:1 / 1:8 / 8:1— handy for long banners, tall scrolling images and bookmark-style layouts - Auto: let the model choose the frame when you don't pick a ratio.
Ratios outside this list (for example 9:21 or 27:16) aren't supported by this model — just pick one of the ratios above.

Three prompts you can adapt
1) A poster with real text (text-to-image). When you need a clear headline / subhead hierarchy:
A minimalist summer festival poster, warm banana-yellow background with soft paper grain.
Composition: a single sliced banana illustration centered, generous negative space at the top.
Typography: bold condensed sans-serif headline "SUMMER MARKET" across the top third,
smaller subhead "SAT 12 JULY · RIVERSIDE" directly beneath it, all text crisp and legible.
Style: flat editorial poster, two-color print look, subtle misregistration.
2) The same character in a new scene (image-to-image, multiple references). Upload several references of one character and keep them consistent:
Use the attached reference images as the same character. Keep her outfit, hairstyle and
facial features exactly consistent. Place her in a new scene: reading on a tram at night,
warm interior light, city lights blurred through the window, candid documentary style.
Change only the environment and lighting.
3) Swap the label on a product shot (image-to-image, one reference). Keep the composition and change one detail:
Edit the provided product photo. Replace the label text on the bottle with "MORNING GLOW"
in a clean serif typeface, matching the curvature of the bottle. Keep the original framing,
background, reflections and lighting unchanged. Change only the label text.
FAQ

Does Nano Banana 2.1 support 4K? Yes — the 4K tier is 12 credits.
Do reference images cost extra? No. Text-to-image and image-to-image are the same price, and the number of reference images doesn't change it.
