Video-to-Script is Live: Reverse Engineer a Video into a Shot List for Direct AI Generation

Ever found a video you loved and wanted to create something similar? The challenge isn't the desire, but translating the camera movements, lighting, and pacing into AI-understandable prompts. Genvizu's Infinite Canvas now features Video-to-Script: select any video node, and within seconds, receive a shot-by-shot script. The 'Prompts' section can be pasted directly into AI video models like Seedance, Veo, or Kling to generate new videos.

Access it in the Canvas: Select a Video Node to Start

In the Infinite Canvas, select a video node and click "Video-to-Script" in the right-hand panel. Choose your desired precision, confirm the estimated credits, and start the process. The system will sample frames from the video at set intervals and then submit this batch of frames to a multimodal visual large model for unified analysis. Instead of analyzing frames in isolation, it understands the relationships between shots within the same batch, enabling the restoration of information like camera movement direction, transition timing, and lighting changes – details that span across frames.

Output is a Usable Script, Not Just a Description

The reverse-engineered result is organized into five sections, directly appearing as a text node in your canvas:

  • Overview: What the entire video is about and its overall tone.

  • Storyboard: Timeline and content for each individual shot.

  • Lighting & Atmosphere: Light direction, color temperature, and texture.

  • Pacing: Editing speed and distribution of shot durations.

  • Prompts: Formatted prompts ready to be fed directly into AI video models.

In tests, a 10-second video took approximately 48 seconds to process, breaking down into 10 shots with individual timelines. The first four sections serve as analytical notes for human review, while the fifth section provides execution instructions for the AI.

Four Precision Levels: Denser Sampling for Finer Detail

LevelFrame Sampling DensitySuitable ForApprox. Credits for 15s VideoFast1 frame every 2 secGetting a general sense of the overall tone~15 creditsStandard1 frame per secDefault for most short videos~16 creditsFine2 frames per secComplex camera movements, fast cuts~26 creditsUltra-Fine4 frames per secDense action and transitions, requiring frame-level detail~45 credits

Choose a level based on one factor: the speed of visual change dictates the sampling density. For slow, sweeping long takes, the Standard level is sufficient. For fast-paced ads with three cuts per second, the Fast level will miss half the shots, making Fine or Ultra-Fine necessary.

Pricing: Base 6 Credits + 0.65 Credits per Frame

Reverse engineering is priced at a base of 6 credits plus 0.65 credits per frame, billed based on the actual number of frames sampled. The estimated cost is displayed before confirmation, so you won't be surprised by the final deduction. For example, a 10-second video using the Standard setting, sampling 11 frames, would cost a total of 14 credits.

Three Immediate Use Cases

  1. Analyze Reference Videos for Camera Techniques: Reverse engineer videos with impressive camera work. Use the Storyboard and Lighting & Atmosphere sections to translate their visual language into something you can replicate.

  2. Transform Inspiration Videos into Replicable Scripts: Input competitor ads or inspirational clips. Use the 'Prompts' section, then modify the subjects and scenes to create your own executable script.

  3. Repurpose Old Assets with New Subjects: Reverse engineer the structure of your older videos. Keep the camera work and pacing, but change the main subject or product to quickly generate new versions with the same visual style.

Companion Update: Script Text Nodes Can Now Generate Videos Directly

This update also includes a crucial enhancement: Script text nodes can now directly initiate video generation. This completes the workflow loop within the canvas: Reverse Engineer → Edit Script → Generate. The reverse-engineered script can be edited in place, and then directly linked to the next generation node without needing to copy-paste elsewhere and re-import.

Also launching concurrently are Seedance 2.0 Reference Video Upgrade and Midjourney 8.2, and Video Upscaling (Topaz Engine) — reverse script, generate new film, and then upscale to deliverable quality, the entire pipeline runs within the canvas.
